The world is always chasing the next big thing, but I truly never have. I’ve always been drawn to something more lasting: timelessness, great quality and craftsmanship. That instinct hasn’t just shaped my personal style; it’s guided every step of my entrepreneurial path.
In 2021, I opened Mon Pitou, a French-inspired café and specialty grocer in Vancouver, with my partner Triet. We wanted to create the kind of place we always wished existed: warm, inviting, and elevated without being fussy. Think the smell of something baking, music that makes you want to linger, coffee that rivals Paris, and recipes that celebrate every ingredient. No shortcuts. No compromises. Just quality, comfort, and a sense of belonging. Community has always meant everything to me, and Mon Pitou became a love letter to that.
But that was just the beginning. In 2025, I launched Jonathon Hawes, a lifestyle brand rooted in the idea that elegance can be effortless and living well should feel like second nature. I’ve always believed that when you look better, cook better, and create spaces that feed your soul, everything else falls into place. Who doesn’t want to come home to a space that feels like a hug, put on something that makes you feel like your best self, and whip up a simple but perfect roast chicken with music playing in the background?
That’s what this brand is about: making life beautiful, one thoughtful detail at a time.

ABOUT JONATHON HAWES
Before opening my first business, I spent nearly a decade as a flight attendant. That experience shaped my love of travel, hospitality, and beautiful details. During that time, Triet and I began selling at our local farmers market, and that simple act of feeding people sparked something much bigger. I’ve worked just about every job you can imagine: folding shirts at Brooks Brothers, helping with events at Fairmont, hosting pop-ups at Williams Sonoma… the list goes on. It wasn’t always glamorous, but every one of those roles taught me something essential about service, style, and what it means to create something meaningful.
The things I love most are being with the people I love most, whether it’s hosting them for a dinner party or welcoming them for a week-long holiday at our home. Most of my closest friends live abroad or far from Vancouver, so these moments are everything to me. I love quiet time in the Hamptons during the off-season, or being tucked away at a lakeside cabin wearing nothing but my favourite sweat set, sitting by a roaring fire with a stiff drink in hand, the dogs at my feet, country music playing, and something comforting but effortlessly delicious to snack on. I have a wide mix of interests, as you can probably imagine. One day I’m in a wonderfully tailored linen suit walking the streets of Paris, and the next I’m covered in brioche dough in a kitchen that looks like it exploded. But everything I do is rooted in the same goal: creating the life I’ve always dreamed of. And I’m so glad to have you along for the journey.
