Jonathon’s Fabulous Affogato
The perfect afternoon pick-me-up on a sunny day or a light dessert to follow a fabulous, indulgent dinner party. Simple, elegant, and oh-so-satisfying.
Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream (or go traditional with vanilla gelato)
  • 2 oz hot espresso (2 shots) or strong brewed coffee

Optional Toppings:

  • Chocolate shavings
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Caramel or chocolate sauce
  • Crushed biscotti
  • A splash of liqueur (Kahlúa, Frangelico, or Bailey’s for a sensational twist)
Directions

Step 1: Scoop the Ice Cream
Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream into a serving bowl or glass. If you’re feeling fancy, chill the glass beforehand—it’s a little extra effort, but oh so worth it.

Step 2: Add Toppings (Optional)
Sprinkle on chocolate shavings, drizzle some caramel sauce, or dust with cocoa powder. Remember, you’re making this as fabulous as you feel.

Step 3: Pour the Espresso
Slowly pour two shots of hot espresso or strong brewed coffee over the ice cream. Watch as it melts into a dreamy, creamy coffee dessert—magic in a glass!

Step 4: Serve Immediately

This is one of those desserts that’s as impressive as it is easy. For a dinner party, scoop the ice cream into glasses ahead of time, cover them, and pop them in the freezer. Just before serving, pour the hot espresso over the top for a stress-free, show-stopping finish.
